On the 23rd of July, a few students, part of the OSA student chapter, went for an outreach program to ‘*insert schools name*’. OSA’s main intention was to, not only fascinate the children but also to eliminate the dislike for science. Sourav Patage, Greeshma Gopinath and Shreya Gudi intrigued the children with exquisite laser pointers. They taught them about different kinds of lens, the splitting of white light using a prism and introduced them to the term ‘Fluorescence’. The session was very interactive and was the first of its kind, organized by our student chapter. OSA has helped break the barrier that existed between the requirement of the syllabus and the availability of practical equipment in these schools. This, the children of these government schools have now, not only studied concepts in their books but have also seen them happening.
